The Legal Framework

Within the Legal Framework, you can find the Notice of Procedural Safeguards, the Parent's Guide to the ARD Process and the Special Education Rules and Regulations. You can also search your school district for local school board policies and special education operating guidelines.

ESC 13

Education Service Centers for Regions 6 and 13 are two of twenty service centers collaborating with and supporting local school districts. They also serve as liaisons between the Texas Education Agency and the local school districts by disseminating information, conducting training and offering consultation for both federal and state programs.The Region 6 Education Service Center serves Buckholts, Caldwell, Cameron, Gause, Milano, Rockdale, Snook and Somerville ISDs. The Region 13 Education Service Center serves Thorndale ISD.

TEA

The Texas Education Agency is the state agency overseeing primary and secondary public education. It is headed by the commissioner of education. The mission of TEA is to provide leadership, guidance and resources to help schools meet the educational needs of all students.
